Screaming in unison with the riders of AtmosFear in the adjacent Liseburg Amusement Park...
The festival was held in the Museum of World Culture, adjacent to the Liseberg amusement park. Looming over the courtyard of the museum was the tallest free-fall ride in Europe, called AtmosFear. Every 5 minutes, screams permeated the air, as the riders plummeted to the ground.
Throughout the evening of performances, I stood in the courtyard of the upper entrance to the museum, cradling 30 litres of peppermint ice cream in my arms, and screaming in unison with the riders as they fell to earth.
After several hours of standing and screaming in the rain, most of the ice cream had melted down the front of me, saturating my clothing and shoes and the ground.
I scream,
you scream,
we all scream,
for ice cream.
