Performance – November 21, 2017, at Papercuts JP Bookstore, Boston, MA, USA

October 13, 2017

On Tuesday, November 21 at 7 pm, Arsem will present a free work-in-progress performance on the dress reform movement of the 19th century entitled Ada Speaking on What to Wear.  The performance takes place at Papercuts JP Bookstore, 5 Green Street, Jamaica Plain, MA.

Incorporating original texts and letters from the 19th century, this performed lecture/demonstration looks at efforts by feminists in Boston calling for rational dress and emancipation from the dictates of fashion.

This  project is made possible in part by a grant from the Boston Foundation, through the Live Arts Boston Program.
